Vampire Facial® Procedure™
The Vampire Facial® Procedure™ uses the same blood-derived growth factors used in the Vampire Facelift® Procedure™ to rejuvenate the skin, smooth fine lines and improve the appearance of scars and stretch marks.
The difference is that with the Vampire Facial® Procedure™, a clinician applies the blood-derived growth factors topically. With the Vampire Facelift® Procedure™, a clinician injects the blood-derived growth factors into the face and combines them with a hyaluronic acid filler (like JUVÉDERM® XC or Restylane®).
In both of these procedures, the material must be used in the proper way or the results will not be very good. Only certified clinicians are authorized to do these procedures and use the “Vampire®” name, which is protected by the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Step 1 – Automated Microneedling to Create Micro-Channels
Automated Microneedling is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars and improvement of the skin’s overall appearance. During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. During the Vampire Facial® Procedure™, these micro-injuries are superficial micro-channels that allow the blood-derived growth factors to be absorbed into the skin. The skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis with the appearance of softer wrinkles.
Step 2 – Repair and Strengthen Your Skin with Blood-Derived Growth Factors
The internal essence of your blood contains life-giving, fundamental protein growth factors designed to restore and strengthen your skin. The Vampire Facial® utilizes a leading-edge patented technology specifically designed and verified for aesthetic applications. With a simple, quick and advantageous process, a Bair Medical Spa clinician is able to harness a very high concentration of your biological, nutrient-rich cells and create autologous platelet-rich plasma.
- 1st – A Bair Medical Spa clinician draws an amount of blood similar to the amount required for a basic lab test.
- 2nd – A Bair Medical Spa clinician places the blood into a centrifuge and spins the blood at a very rapid rate to separate the platelets from the other components of the blood.
- 3rd – The platelet-rich plasma is activated to release at least 8 essential growth factors and signaling proteins.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a regenerative technology that deploys aspects of your own biochemistry. The activated growth factors will instinctively know how to repair and strengthen the specific tissues where they reside, and because all components of PRP are exclusively from you (autologous in origin), there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction or intolerance; nevertheless, before the treatment, disclose all the medications you are taking (including herbs) with your Bair Medical Spa clinician.
Growth Factor Production Known Effects
- Epidermal Growth Factor – Plays a significant role in the regulation of cell growth, proliferation, and differentiation during the remodeling phase. Stimulates the rejuvenation of the epidermis, the most superficial layer of the skin.
- Transforming Growth Factor – Promotes the growth of new blood vessels.
- Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor – An important signaling protein involved in the growth of blood vessels from pre-existing vasculature.
- Fibroblast Growth Factor – Promotes the formation of new vascularized tissue and new epidermal surface cells for the intricate process of the skin repairing itself after injury. Attracts fibroblasts to the zone of injury. Fibroblasts create collagen and the connective tissue matrix between cells.
- Interleukins, Macrophages, Keratinocytes, Endothelial Cells, Lymphocytes, Fibroblasts, Osteoblasts, Basophils, Mast Cells – These are specialized cells and factors that are important for the repair of injured tissues. Induce collagen synthesis for healthy cell production and repair of damaged tissues.
- Colony Stimulating Factor – Stimulates the specialized repair cells, granulocytes and macrophages, to proliferate for the growth of healthy tissue and blood cells.
- Keratinocyte Growth Factor – Keratinocytes are the cells in the superficial epidermis that form the skin barrier. Keratinocyte Growth Factor stimulates keratinocyte migration, differentiation, and proliferations that directly enhance wound healing and the generation of new skin.
Vampire Facial® Results
Depending on the condition of your skin, some results will be immediate, and some results will be gradual and will vary from person to person based on health, age, and genetic makeup.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Some patients only require a single treatment, once per year, to achieve optimal results; however, it is recommended that most patients receive a series of two to three treatments spaced about six to eight weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars, it is recommended that they receive six to eight treatments in six-week intervals.
